I had a job when I graduated but still lived at home for about a year and a half. Saved like 20k in the bank while my friends spent 1k+ on rent every month. Not saying that having your own place isn't worth it, but saving for a little while might be a good idea if you can.

Cool site btw!

I just watched the movie earlier and found your website by doing a web-search to jog my memory as to what it meant. I thought the speech given by the character Gordon Gecko in this latest Wall Street movie in which he coined the NINJA phrase was just as right on for our times today as when the earlier Gordon Gecko gave the "greed is good" speech that pointed a finger at the Wall Street excesses of the 1980's. With our current monetary system being trashed by our government and the Federal Reserve it is no wonder why we have no assets. With the NAFTA agreements of the 1990's it is no wonder why we have no jobs & are left a decade and a half later with only with low paying service sector jobs. Also, many have jobs that don't pay enough and have to take federal assistance (food stamps) just to be able to feed their families. AS NNJA's we have got really no other choice but to be entrepreneurs and create jobs here in America that will pay future generations well. We also will have to elect politicians who will get rid of destructive legislation such as NAFTA and put back in place legislation such as Glass-Steagall. Hopefully, the NNJA's will end up being the opposite of boomers by leaving the next generation better off unlike this one did for us.

I agree fully about the grandparent comment mentioned above and am glad that I am not alone in what I have seen from all but one of our family's grandparents. I really feel bad for my kids and both my wife & I are ashamed of the selfish, self-centered family members that could care less for their grandkids. I have never seen a more selfish bunch of people than those from the boomer generation. From my observation, they really don't care much about anything but themselves as a generation. The narcissism charge above holds up. I do know that there are some really good boomers out there who are just simply embarrassed by their generation. I just have not met many of them- only a few.

Is this true? Is the government really going to confiscate our 401ks, IRAs and any other forms of private money that we have invested? If so when is this going to happen? What will the government do when people begin taking their money out of investments to keep to them selves and just taking the penalties for early withdrawl? I myself will be withdrawing everything we've put into our 401k if the goverment attempts this.
